Posted: 04 Nov 2003 What did I tell you just a few hours rather than minutes Male Adder found basking at the base of a bramble thicket in North Baddesley, Hampshire. Possible V. Lizard sighting within large molina stand. Adder was disturbed from 1st basking spot (bramble/dead gorse bush)12.45pm cloudy/windy with sunny spells Temp around 16 to 18C. Spotted again this time venturing into molina tussock which was well covered with bramble. The animal was not captured so it isnt confirmed if the individual was the same one seen early in the year. Most likely to be a hibernation area as there are plenty of tussocks, and rabbit burrows.

Posted: 04 Nov 2003 Not really an adder siting, but had a juvenile slow worm under a tin in the garden today, sunny at the time (1145), and the tin was angled towards the sun.  |

Posted: 12 Nov 2003 Corfe Castle 1050 Air 14degC Ground 22degC 4 adult males coiled together very alert two moved off quickly. Swanage coastal 1220 Air 12.5degC ground 20degC adult male lying exposed on anthill but moved off quickly. Tony |
